ABOUT THE PROGRAM
As scratch-cooking chefs, we are aware of the deep challenges that our community faces when it comes to accessing healthy foods. With over 40 million food insecure Americans, including 13 million children and 8 million non-working disabled adults, we are profoundly committed to fighting food insecurity within our own community.

From Scratch is UGK Community First’s seasonal meal program that delivers healthy, chef-prepared meals to seniors and families—feeding over 1,800 individuals during the holiday season alone. The program is rooted in the belief that nutritious, culturally relevant food can combat the long-term effects of food insecurity, including diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. In addition to holiday outreach, From Scratch operates year-round kitchen at SOAR365 Camp Baker, where we provide meals to individuals with disabilities. No matter the season or setting, our mission remains the same: to nourish bodies and uplift spirits through the power of good food made from scratch.
